Investiture ceremony for County Court Judge Lisa McGloflin set for May 8 in Poplarville May 2, 2024 An investiture ceremony for Pearl River County Court Judge Lisa Beech McGloflin will be held at 2 p.m. May 8 at the Pearl River County Courthouse at 200 South Main Street in Poplarville. 
Gov. Tate Reeves appointed Judge McGloflin, of Carriere, as County Court Judge for Pearl River County on March 11. Judge McGloflin took the position previously held by Judge Richelle Lumpkin, whom the Governor appointed as Circuit Judge. Judge McGloflin will serve through Jan. 5, 2026. A special election will be held on Nov. 4, 2025. Gov. Reeves said when he made the appointment, “I'm proud to appoint Lisa as county court judge. She knows Pearl River County well and will do an excellent job in this position. I look forward to seeing everything she will accomplish on behalf of Mississippians.” She served for the past six years as guardian ad litem for the Pearl River County Youth Court. She was an assistant district attorney for the 15th Circuit Court District 2013-2018. She was judge pro tempore for the City of Picayune Municipal Court from 2022 until her appointment as County Court Judge. Judge McGloflin said she will divide her time equally between Youth Court and County Court duties. She handles felony arraignments, accepts pleas and can conduct bench trials. The 2010 Legislature authorized creation of a County Court for Pearl River County in 2011 to relieve a crowded docket for the 15th Circuit Court and Youth Court. She graduated from Pearl River Community College. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Mississippi and a Juris Doctor from the University of Mississippi School of Law. #### |
